The articles begin with definitions and the main criteria used to describe firearms. Technical, sporting and legal classifications are not identical, so each page states the context in which a term is being used and points to the appropriate source when the distinction has legal consequences.
Terminology
The glossary and topic pages explain vocabulary found in legislation, sporting rules and educational material. The goal is to recognize the correct meaning, not to memorize labels. When ordinary usage differs from formal legal wording, we point out that distinction to reduce the risk of incorrect conclusions.
Technical context
Caliber, cartridges and ballistics are described at the level needed to understand a source or a safety discussion. We do not include instructions for manufacturing, conversion, modification or optimization. Practical instruction remains the responsibility of qualified instructors and authorized operators.
